The success of the THS Band Boosters depends on volunteers like you. From concerts to competitions to transportation to uniforms, managing the logistics of the largest band in the Downriver area is a monumental task. To be successful, every Booster is expected to donate a few minutes of their time to keep the band functioning. Whether you are interested in leading a project or donating “sweat hours” there are plenty of opportunities.
There are no paid positions in our organization – we depend on everyone to help!
These are a few of the events and projects where we collect volunteers:
Bus Chaperons to various events
Band Camp Departure Day
Senior Night
Band Banquet
Uniform cleaning
Jazz Cafe
Fundraising
Pit Crew
Cedar Point trip
Band competitions
Band concerts
Pizza parties
Christmas party
This is only a partial list. Every year, countless opportunities slip past us because there were not any volunteers to support the event. We use SignUpGenius to help coordinate most of our projects. Watch your email for a link to sign up. Occasionally, for smaller projects, you may be contacted directly by the organizer.
Senior Parent Night
Marching Band seniors, along with their parents are honored at the last home football game of the season. During pregame, the students and parents will line up on the track to have their names called by the announcer. Parents should gather in the THS cafeteria before the game for instructions. The event is usually organized by the parents of the Marching Band juniors.
Band Camp Departure
Departure day can be hectic, but a few volunteers will help everything run smoothly. All volunteers will be given simple instructions. You will be working with some veteran parents who will show you the ropes.

Pizza Party
The Band Boosters host a Pizza Party for active Marching Band members to celebrate the end of the marching season. This is usually scheduled for mid November. The Section Leaders and their parents are responsible for organizing the event. The Boosters supply the pizza and donations are solicited for drinks, salad, and desserts.
